Girly Casual Date Night Look

Even though now it is super cold where I live I wanted to share a causal outfit I wore out a few weeks ago. IMG_4995.JPG Yes I had to ham it up a bit with this pose here. I love fun skirts you can twirl in, I’ll forever be a little girl at heart. I purchased both the top and skirt from ASOS. I think the top is very casual and the skirt adds a touch a femininity to the look.
Then for my hair I kept it super simple. I found this look on Pinterest and thought I would give it a shot.

IMG_4997.JPG All you do is place a headband (that goes all the way around you head), mine is from Anthropologie,  on from the back and then just twirl and wrap your hair into the band at the bottom. Then just to make sure it is super secure I added a few bobby pins.

I could do a more detailed post on how to get this hair look if someone wanted – just let me know!
I love everything about this look. The hair style is super easy but you can totally dress it up. The outfit is very comfy and casual but the pop of pink with the skirt is my favorite part of the entire outfit.

Green and Yellow

Green is one of my favorite colors and I really love wearing it too. Since spring seems to be FINALLY in full swing I have been embracing bright fun colors.

Dress – JCrew – gift from my sister last summer / Cardigan – AE – super old (similar style)/ Shoes – JCrew Factory

Normally, I would not have paired this outfit right away but as I was searching for a sweater to go with this dress (its sleeveless and it is typically cold where I work) I wanted to go for something bold and not my go to grey sweater.

Headband – Anthropologie

I had second day hair and when I decided on the yellow cardigan I knew I had to wear it with my yellow headband.

Close up on the shoes!

I picked these shoes because if I was going to be bold with colors why not toss in a little leopard print too!

Peter Pan collars

I was very excited when Peter Pan collars came on the fashion scene but I was very skeptical about wearing one. I was not sure I could pull off the look but I tried anyway.

I love the lace detail on this collar

I can’t locate the exact Sperry but they have so many cute ones – I got mine on sale at Macys

I had second day hair so I did a fast inverted or dutch braid (I have seen both names for this)

Since the top is fairly simple aside from the collar, I felt comfortable pairing it with bright blue pants and funky Sperrys.

OOTD

I really love the lace short trend that is happening this summer and I also love colorful shorts. Here is how I styled mine today.Image

Shirt – Loft, Shorts – Loft (similar here forever21), Sunglasses – Ray-Ban wayfarer – the color was limited edition but they always bring out new colors, Bracelets – Alex and Ani, Sandals – Sam Edelman

ImageI love Alex and Ani bracelets.

Enjoy!
